VoSpire ER® is the only marketed albuterol sulfate bronchodilator that utilizes albuterol sulfate in an extended-release tablet. VoSpire ER® (Albuterol Sulfate) Extended-Release Tablets have been shown to have up to 12-hours duration of action for relieving bronchospasms in patients with Reversible Obstructive Airway Disease (ROAD).
What is VoSpire ER® used for?
VoSpire ER® Extended-Release tablets are indicated for the relief of bronchospasm in adults and children 6 years of age and older with Reversible Obstructive Airway Disease.

How quickly does VoSpire ER® work?
VoSpire ER®'s patented extended-release technology is designed to help relieve the symptoms of bronchospasm over a 12 hour period by slowly releasing albuterol sulfate from each tablet in a steady manner. As an extended-release tablet, it is important to note that people who take VoSpire ER® may still need their fast-acting bronchodilator inhaler for rapid relief from bronchospasms that can occur when patients suffer sudden acute attacks. Talk to your doctor or healthcare provider for more information about fast-acting bronchodilators that might be appropriate for you.
How and When should I take VoSpire ER®?
It is very important to remember that VoSpire ER® MUST NOT BE CRUSHED OR CHEWED. VoSpire ER® must be swallowed whole with the use of liquid.
VoSpire ER® Tablets are taken by mouth twice daily, usually once in the morning and once in the evening. Each small, easy to use, tablet provides up to 12 hours duration of action for relief of bronchospasm.
Albuterol extended-release tablets should not be used more frequently than recommended. Do not increase the dose or frequency of albuterol extended-release tablets without consulting your physician.
Is albuterol sulfate safe?
Albuterol sulfate is a trusted, dependable and established mainstay medication used in the treatment of bronchospasm. VoSpire ER® was approved by the US FDA on the basis of its safety and efficacy.
As with all medications, VoSpire ER® may cause adverse reactions. The most common adverse reactions reported in clinical trials of adult patients were: tremor; headache; nervousness; nausea and vomiting.
As with any product, VoSpire ER® may not be appropriate for every patient. The majority of patients taking VoSpire ER® tolerates the product well and experience few, if any, adverse reactions.

Is VoSpire ER® safe to use in young children?
VoSpire ER® is indicated for the relief of bronchospasm in patients 6 years of age and older with Reversible Obstructive Airway Disease.
Does VoSpire ER® contain starch or gluten?
VoSpire ER® does NOT contain starch or starch-derived ingredients that could be a source of gluten.
Does VoSpire ER® contain milk proteins?
VoSpire ER® does NOT contain any milk proteins (Milk proteins are caseins and whey proteins).
Does VoSpire ER® contain Lactose?
VoSpire ER® DOES contain Lactose.
What inactive ingredients does VoSpire ER® contain?
Each VoSpire ER® tablet contains the following inactive ingredients:
- Calcium sulfate
- Carnauba wax
- Ethylcellulose
- Ferric oxide black
- Hypromellose
- Ink-thinner xi
- Lactose monohydrate
- Magnesium stearate
- Polyethylene glycol
- Propylene glycol
- Shellac
- Stearic acid
- Titanium dioxide
- Triacetin
- D&C Yellow #10 (4 mg only)
- FD&C Blue #1 (4 mg only)
How should VoSpire ER® be stored?
VoSpire ER® should be dispensed in a well-closed, light-resistant container and stored at 20º-25ºC (68º-77ºF). Replace cap securely after each opening.
